Learn valuable business skills with a free boot camp for veterans

As part of their Enterprise for Veterans program, the Prince’s Trust Australia will be running their free four-day immersive boot camp in Perth from 10 to 13 September.

If you are a transitioning defence service person or a family member of a current or former serving member and looking to start your own business, this boot camp will provide you with a valuable learning experience and equip you with the skills to start your self-employment journey.

What is involved in the boot camp?

  • A free, four-day, ‘learn by doing’ experiential immersive
  • Participants work in small teams to solve a growth opportunity for a real social enterprise, not for profit, or veteran-owned business
  • Framed by ten enterprise skills, the immersive blends design thinking, business model canvas and start-up methodology
  • Focused on reframing skill sets and reflective learning
  • Participants are supported to apply methodologies to their own self-employment journey through a business ‘road map’

Why take part in a Prince’s Trust Australia’s Enterprise for Veterans event?

It is the Prince’s Trust Australia’s vision to support veterans and their families with the confidence, skills and networks they need to explore self-employment and transform their own lives through participant-led programs.

The Prince’s Trust Australia hosts a number of valuable initiatives to equip veterans and ADF family members with the necessary skills to turn their entrepreneurial visions into reality.

Definitiv’s Chief Executive, Roy Mellon, a retired veteran is an alumnus of a Prince’s Trust Australia Enterprise for Veterans program and cannot rate the organisation more highly.

“When I initially signed up to my first Prince’s Trust event, I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be one of the most rewarding and educational experiences.”

“Being around like-minded people with similar backgrounds and experiences really helped. Going through the program with my fellow service men and women and having each other for support and encouragement meant so much.”

“The Prince’s Trust really cares about what they do, and you can see that through the courses, workshops and support programs they run for veterans.”

The workshop is only one way the Prince’s Trust Australia will support your entrepreneurial journey. The organisation is dedicated to providing ongoing support to all its participants.

How do I sign up?

Transitioning defence personnel, veterans and family members of current or former serving members at any stage of their self-employment journey are welcome to attend the four-day boot camp.
